Sector of activity: Engineering, technical studies (NAF 2008 Code: 7112B)
Company activity: Energy and fluid engineering, utilities & process cooling, providing turnkey projects.
Company type: French company
Company founding period: 1998
Contact(s): Project Manager
The company works on industrial boiler house projects, utility plants, and energy performance optimization. It complements its activities with feasibility studies, installation works, and commissioning. In this way, it enables industrial sites to limit their environmental impact, optimize energy consumption, while improving process reliability.
Filtration challenge
Following an Internet search, the company contacted us as part of a saturated steam filtration project at 1 µm. The operating conditions, specified by our customer, were as follows:
- Flow rate: 600 kg/h
- Pressure: 5 bar
- Maximum pressure drop: 100 mbar
- Connection to DN50 piping
- Inlet/Outlet: flanged
- Filter housing: 316L stainless steel
Pemflow filtration solution
We proposed a saturated steam filtration solution consisting of a metallic cartridge and a 316L stainless steel filter housing.

Metallic cartridge
This cartridge is particularly suitable for particle retention in steam filtration. It consists of a 316L stainless steel tube and a pleated metal mesh structure with a surface area of 0.18 m2 per 10-inch element.
Thanks to its robustness, this cartridge is designed for a maximum differential pressure of 10 bar. The operating temperature range extends from -20°C to 210°C.
The entire range of these metallic cartridges is fully welded and manufactured without the use of binders or other chemical additives (glue, resin, etc.).
- Main advantages:
- Good material resistance to steam
- Regeneration by ultrasonic bath and backflushing
- High particle retention capacity at low differential pressure
- High flow rate thanks to the pleated stainless steel media
- Retention rating down to 0.01 µm in saturated steam
Expert advice
The pleated media structure was preferred over more conventional wound technologies in order to minimize pressure drop.
Filter housing
For this application, the stainless steel filter housing range has been developed for the purification of compressed air and other technical gases, including steam.
Thanks to their optimized design, these filter housings provide a low differential pressure at high flow rates.
Its characteristics are as follows:
• Inlet/Outlet connection: DN50 PN16, EN1092-1 flanges
• Maximum temperature: -25 / +178°C
• Maximum pressure: 8.5 bar
The drain and vent connections are 1/4’’ BSP female, fitted with screwed stainless steel plugs.
Sanitary internal finish: Ra < 0.8 µm. External finish: electropolishing.
The filter housing complies with PED Directive 2014/68/EU: Group 2 fluids.
