Company context

Worldwide, our client operates 24 diverse subsidiaries and employs over 2,800 staff. The company has two factories in France: one for perfumes and the other for cosmetics. Its primary activity is the manufacture, production, and marketing of perfumes.

Other activities complement its offering, including makeup and skincare products. The company has already entrusted us with the supply of filter elements for its water distribution, particularly for production.

Filtration challenge

Before being added to the final blend, our client detected bacterial contamination in the water coming from the facility’s piping. They therefore requested a point-of-use (POU) safety filtration solution to prevent potential contamination of their blend.

Expert advice

The presence of a point-of-use filter provides a reliable and effective means to immediately safeguard a water network and ensure bacteriologically controlled water. Contamination risks can vary, such as the presence of biofilm in water distribution systems.

Our client requested a “disposable” solution with a filtration rating of 0.1 µm, a flow rate of 200 L/h (0.2 m³/h), and an operating pressure of 3 bar.

Pemflow filtration solution

For this type of application—point-of-use safety filtration—the most suitable solution is the installation of inline microfiltration capsules. These single-use capsules, such as the SupaPore VC from AMAZON FILTERS, are designed for small- and medium-volume liquid applications.

This product features:

  • Naturally hydrophilic PES membrane
  • Thermally welded construction, free of adhesives
  • Non-pyrogenic capsule, autoclavable multiple times
  • Materials compliant with US FDA CFR Title 21
  • Manufactured in a cleanroom under ISO quality system

SupaPore VC capsules are manufactured using polypropylene materials, with membrane supports and drainage layers assembled in a polypropylene housing. The latest thermal welding technology ensures a robust and durable filter capsule capable of withstanding a wide range of chemicals, temperatures, and challenging operating conditions.

All AMAZON FILTERS SupaPore capsules are produced under strict quality control, with a lot number providing full traceability of all components. A Product Validation Guide details the tests performed to ensure regulatory compliance.

Advantages of the filter capsules include:

  • Disposable filtration system, eliminating the need for a housing
  • Ready-to-use
  • Filter unit enclosed in the capsule, avoiding cleaning and operator exposure
  • Wide range of connections to fit most existing installations (Hosebarb, Triclamp BS4825, NPT, etc.)
