Rinse water filtration: which solution?

The company is a global leader in the manufacture of metal packaging, primarily for the beverage, food and consumer goods sectors. It stands out for its commitment to sustainability, producing cans, tins and other metal containers that are 100% recyclable. With production sites located in several countries, the company serves renowned customers worldwide. It positions itself as a key player in the transition towards more environmentally friendly packaging solutions.

In the rinse water recycling process, the objective was to address two issues: optimising filtration quality on the one hand, and securing cartridge supply on the other, by avoiding any delivery disruptions.

In addition, the service life of the filters had to be at least equivalent to that of the filters previously in place.

The use of a large-diameter depth filter cartridge proved to be a perfectly suitable solution for the rinse water recycling process, notably due to a flow rate of around 20 m³/h. We selected the CONTOUR cartridge from AMAZON FILTERS, featuring a polypropylene medium and a rigid central core also made of polypropylene, in order to withstand pressures of 5 to 6 bar.

The fibres of the CONTOUR cartridge are continuously thermally bonded onto a mandrel, without the use of resins, adhesives or lubricants. This manufacturing process guarantees non-contamination of the filtered fluid. In addition, the large void volume provides a low ΔP and a high dirt-holding capacity.

All materials are compatible with US FDA Title 21 and meet food contact requirements as described in European Regulation EC 1935/2004.
