Company context
A leading industrial player in the processing and packaging of rice, pulses, and seed blends—both dry and retorted in pouches—our client is also France’s specialist in functional flours produced from gluten-free rice and legumes.
Three factories in France transform more than 250 raw materials into 2,000 product references for industrial markets, foodservice, and retail distribution.
Filtration challenge
Following the fully satisfactory supply of several dust-extraction filtration consumables, our client asked us to support them in the standardization of the filtration consumables used across various dust-extraction systems, both in the milling area and in the raw-material processing and packaging workshop.
Because the dust-extraction equipment varied widely in size, filtration capacity, and number of filter bags, we proposed a single filtration media capable of meeting all needs—while taking into account the different bag geometries depending on the installation.
In addition, the filter bags had to be antistatic and suitable for food contact.
Key note
The ATEX regulation (for ATmosphères EXplosives) derives from two European directives: 2014/34/EU (ATEX 95) for equipment intended for use in ATEX zones, and 1999/92/EC (ATEX 137) concerning worker safety. The classification of ATEX zones is carried out according to standards defined for each material presenting an explosion risk. The product’s ability to disperse into the air, together with the ventilation implemented in the room, determines whether the concentration of combustible material in the ambient air creates an explosive mixture.
Pemflow filtration solution
To assist our client in cataloguing their consumables, we proceeded through several steps:
- Inventory of the various dust-extraction systems within the workshops
- Identification of brands, references, and operating modes of the dust collectors
- Identification of product references so we could propose equivalent filter bags ensuring at least identical performance, without hindering productivity
- Measurement of bag dimensions and listing of the different suspension systems used for the filter bags

Close collaboration with our client enabled the creation of a comprehensive inventory table covering all article codes (dust-extraction filter bags).
Our information system allows us to build a database containing the client’s internal designations and codes, while linking them to Pemflow product references.

This allows our client to procure filter bags using their own internal codification. This service greatly simplifies the day-to-day management of their installations.

On our recommendation, the company implemented an automatic replenishment system (minimum stock level) for critical points.
Optimized procurement, our support in structuring the warehouse, and improved anticipation of needs are among the benefits of our partnership with this company.
The outcome of this joint work resulted in a productivity gain.
